Everett is the north end of our regular route and one of the easiest for us to reach — about twenty minutes up I-5 with no ferry, no bridge and no toll. The housing stock through Everett, Mill Creek and Lynnwood is mostly post-1970 with 200 A services, which means EV chargers and heat-pump circuits usually go in without a service upgrade, and that keeps the job to one visit. Everett runs its own electrical permitting rather than using L&I. Snohomish County PUD is the utility, and it is worth knowing what it does and does not pay for: it still funds commercial and multifamily charging ports, but its residential charger rebate ended at the close of 2025.

### Does Snohomish County PUD still pay a rebate on a home EV charger?

No. The PUD's residential charger rebate ended on 31 December 2025, and any page still advertising it is out of date. What the PUD does still fund is commercial and multifamily charging: $1,000 per port at existing sites and $500 per port in new construction, up to ten ports, using chargers from its qualified product list, claimed within 90 days. ### Who issues electrical permits in Everett?

The City of Everett. Everett, Lynnwood, Marysville and Mountlake Terrace all run their own electrical inspection programmes, while Edmonds, Bothell and unincorporated Snohomish County go through Washington L&I. It changes the fee and the inspector, not the requirement: the contractor buys the permit before the work starts.

### Will an EV charger fit on my existing Everett panel, or do I need a service upgrade?

Usually it fits. Most Everett-area houses built from the 1970s onward already have a 200 A service, and a 48 A charger on a 60 A breaker is comfortable on one once the load calculation is run. The cases that do need more are 100 A services, houses that have already added a heat pump and an induction range, and detached garages on a small feeder. We do the calculation before quoting rather than after.

### How far north do you go?

Everett and Marysville are routine. Mount Vernon is occasional. Bellingham is about ninety minutes each way, so Whatcom County work is by arrangement only and we will say so plainly rather than quote it as a normal service area. If you are north of Marysville, call and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right people for the job.
