What this statement covers

This statement applies to hbpowerelectric.com, every page on it, and the quote form. HB Power Electric is owner-operated: the site is built and maintained by one person, not by an agency with an accessibility specialist on staff.

What standard the site is built to

The target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 at Level AA, published by the W3C. It is a target the site is built to, not a certification anyone has issued.

What has been built in

• Structure. Semantic landmarks for header, navigation, main and footer. One H1 per page, headings in order, and lists marked up as lists.
• Keyboard. A skip link is the first item in the tab order and becomes visible on focus. Every interactive element has a visible focus outline, higher-contrast than the browser default and never removed. There are no keyboard traps.
• Contrast. Body and heading text sits at 4.5:1 or better against its background. The amber from the logo is used for the lightning-bolt mark, rules and dark-background fills, never as text on a light background, where it would fail.
• Images. Every photograph carries alt text describing the electrical work shown, for example “200A residential electrical panel in Everett WA garage with new Eaton breaker labeled Car Charger for EV charger circuit” rather than “electrical panel”. Decorative icons are inline SVGs marked aria-hidden, so screen readers skip them.
• Forms. Each field has a real label, not a placeholder standing in for one, plus an autocomplete attribute for name, telephone, email and postal code. Required fields are marked in text.
• Color. Nothing is signaled by color alone. Price and rebate tables use proper th header cells with scope, so a screen reader announces which column a figure belongs to.
• Motion. Transitions honor prefers-reduced-motion: reduce. Nothing auto-plays, scrolls, blinks or rotates.
• Zoom. Text scales to 200 per cent and the layout reflows to a single column at 320 CSS pixels wide. Wide price and rebate tables scroll sideways inside their own box rather than pushing the whole page wider.

What is not covered

The site has not been tested against every combination of browser, screen reader and magnifier in use.

Three things sit outside our control:

• Any PDF or document linked from this site, such as a manufacturer specification sheet or a utility rebate application, is produced by someone else and may not be tagged for screen readers.
• The L&I Verify record we link to for license HBPOWPE758PO, Google Maps, and the Seattle City Light, Puget Sound Energy, Snohomish County PUD and Tacoma Power rebate pages are third-party sites. We link to them so you can check our facts, but their accessibility is theirs.
• A photograph of finished conduit or a panel interior holds more detail than one sentence of alt text can convey. Ask and the owner will describe any image on the site.
