Restaurant and bar tenant improvement, Federal Way — MC cable rough-in through framing to labelled boxes, May 2026.

What we do

Eight things, each with a photograph of us doing it. Commercial work leads, because that is where the risk the buyer is actually managing — permits, inspections and an opening date — is highest.

Commercial first

The bid you are comparing is really about risk

A restaurant owner, a landlord or a superintendent is not shopping for the cheapest hour of labour. They are asking whether the electrician will buy the permit, pass the inspection, and not be the reason the opening slips. That is what our process is built around: a walkthrough, a written scope, the permit before work starts, rough-in, inspection, trim, and a closeout package with an as-built circuit schedule you can hand to the next trade.

Ten Seattle SDCI electrical permits since December 2025, nine completed and inspected. All of those were residential — our commercial proof is the Federal Way tenant improvement and the Edmonds refrigeration controls, and we would rather point at the real record than round it up.

Commercial capabilities and process

The kitchen and bar circuit schedule from that job: two 30 A coffee circuits, dishwasher, hood and refrigeration, convection and 40 A combi ovens, cooktop, microwave, a 30 A water heater, a 20 A pump, and 30 A plus 40 A air conditioning.

What the utility pays

Which utility serves the building — not which city it is in — decides what you can claim, and the difference between them is large. Three examples; there are 17 programmes on the rebates page, each with its source link and the date we last checked it.

Questions we get before the first visit

Are you licensed in Washington, and how do I check?

Yes. HB POWER ELECTRIC LLC holds Washington Electrical Contractor licence HBPOWPE758PO, specialty General (01), active until 20 October 2027, with a $4,000 contractor bond under RCW 19.28.041. You do not have to take our word for it: put the licence number into L&I's Verify tool, or call L&I on 1-800-647-0982. The record also shows our owner's Journey Level and Electrical Administrator certificates.

Do you pull the permit, or is that my job?

We do. Washington rules (WAC 296-46B-901) put the permit on the contractor, and it has to be bought before the work starts. We pull it and schedule the inspection as part of the job, and we tell you which office it went through, because it varies: Seattle SDCI inside the city, the city itself in Bellevue, Everett and Federal Way, Tacoma Power in Tacoma, and Washington L&I in Bothell, Kenmore, Issaquah, Kent, Edmonds and Puyallup.

Who actually shows up?

The owner, Yurii Havryliv. HB Power Electric is owner-operated — there is no dispatcher, no rotating crew and no subcontracted labour. That is the reason the work looks consistent across the photographs on this site, and it is also the reason we are honest about scheduling rather than promising an arrival window we cannot keep.

How do you price work?

Small jobs get a flat price after a look, wherever that is possible. Anything with a drawing, an equipment schedule or a deadline gets a written scope after a site visit or a plan review, with permit fees, utility charges and equipment itemised. Published ranges on this site are Puget Sound market anchors with their sources and dates on the pricing page — not a quote for your building.

Do you help with utility rebates?

Yes, and it is worth asking early, because most programmes require pre-approval before the equipment is bought. Which utility serves the building — Seattle City Light, Puget Sound Energy, Snohomish County PUD or Tacoma Power — decides what you can claim, and the amounts differ enormously. Every programme we cite is on the rebates page with its source link and the date we last checked it.

Tell us what you need done

Call or text and you will reach the owner, not a call centre. For anything with a drawing, an equipment list or a deadline, send it through the quote form and you will get a written scope back.

We reply as soon as we are off the job — usually the same day.
